Privacy policy

What we collect, why we have it, and how to make us get rid of it. In plain words, because a policy nobody can read protects nobody.

Last updated 6 September 2026

01Who we are

DLT/82 sells perfume and skincare from Cape Town, at dlt82.co.za. When this policy says we, us or our, it means DLT/82. When it says you, it means anyone using the site, buying from it, or signing up to hear from us.

DLT/82 is a trading name of Rare Ritual Labs (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2026/319891/07.

We decide what happens to the information described here, which under South African law makes us the responsible party for it.

02What we collect when you buy something

To get a parcel to your door we need to know where the door is. When you place an order we collect:

  • your name
  • your email address
  • your delivery address, including the suburb
  • your phone number, so the courier can find you
  • what you ordered, what you paid, and when

The phone number is not optional and it is not for marketing. A courier who cannot reach you brings the parcel back.

03What we collect when you sign up for emails

Your email address, and which page you were on when you signed up. We record the page so we know whether you came in through the scents, the skincare or somewhere else, and can send you something relevant instead of everything.

Every email we send has an unsubscribe link in it. One click, no questions, and we stop.

04What we collect when you make an account

Your email address, a login, and your order history. The login is stored scrambled, so nobody at DLT/82 can read it, including us. If you earn loyalty points we keep a record of what you earned and what you spent.

05What we collect just by you being here

Like most shops online, our site records ordinary technical things: the pages you open, the products you look at, what you put in your bag, what you searched for, roughly where in the world you are, and what browser and device you used.

Some of this is ours, and some of it goes to Meta, the company behind Facebook and Instagram, through a small piece of code called a pixel. It tells Meta which products were viewed and added to a bag, so our advertising reaches people who might actually want it.

If you type your email address or phone number at checkout, that goes to Meta too, but scrambled first into a string nobody can read backwards. It lets Meta work out that the person who bought is the person who saw the advert, without us handing over your details in the clear. Your name and your delivery address are never sent.

06Your card details

We never see them. Card payments are handled by Payfast, a South African payment provider, on their own systems. Your card number does not pass through this site and is not stored by us. What comes back to us is a yes or a no, and the last four digits on your receipt.

Payfast has its own privacy policy at payfast.io.

07Who else sees your information

Only the businesses that have to, and only the part they need:

  • Payfast, to take the payment.
  • Our courier, to deliver the parcel. They get your name, address and phone number.
  • Our web host and our email provider, because the site and the emails live on their machines.
  • Meta, for the advertising described in section 5.

We do not sell your information. We do not swap it, rent it out, or hand it to anyone else for their own marketing. If a law or a court required us to hand something over, we would.

08Cookies

A cookie is a small file the site leaves in your browser so it can remember things. Ours do four jobs: they keep your bag full while you move around, they keep you signed in, they remember you have already seen the notice at the bottom of the screen, and they carry the Meta pixel described in section 5.

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. The bag and the sign-in will stop working if you block them, which is the trade.

09How long we keep it

Order records stay for five years, because a business has to be able to account for its sales. Your account and its order history stay until you ask us to close it. Email sign-ups stay until you unsubscribe. The technical site data in section 5 is short-lived and is not kept in a form that points back at you by name.

10What you can ask us to do

Email perfume@dlt82.co.za and ask us to:

  • tell you exactly what we hold about you
  • correct anything that is wrong
  • delete your account and what sits behind it
  • stop emailing you
  • stop using your information for advertising

We answer within a reasonable time and we do not charge for it. The one thing we cannot delete is the record of an order you have already placed, for the accounting reason in section 9.

If we handle a request badly you can take it further with the Information Regulator of South Africa, at inforegulator.org.za. We would rather you came to us first.

11Children

This shop is for adults. We do not knowingly collect anything about anyone under 18, and we do not market to them. If you think a child has given us information, email us and it goes.

12Keeping it safe

The site runs over an encrypted connection, logins are stored scrambled, and access to the order system is limited to the people who pack and post the parcels. No system anywhere is perfectly safe, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. If information of yours were ever exposed, we would tell you and we would tell the Regulator.

13Changes to this policy

If what we do changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top moves. The version on this page is always the one that applies.
